bespoke timber buildings

We offer sleepers cut from mature larch and Douglas fir (see log). You can see how tight the growth rings are. Each ring is one year’s growth, which shows it’s slow-grown timber. This makes it stronger and longer lasting because of the natural oils and resin in the wood.

The stacked sleepers shown are what you usually get from most merchants. Faster-grown timber with wider rings, so they don’t last as long and can start to rot within a few years.
